POTSH MUSIC · 1099 / INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR ENGAGEMENTS
All POTSH engagements are 1099 independent-contractor roles — project, retainer, or commission. We're a small, intentional team building something new: a human-directed, AI-expanded studio where artists own more. Most engagements are remote-eligible. Some require physical presence in Portland, OR — content capture, live production, podcast tapings, and hands-on creative work near the talent. Contractors must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must consent to a background check before any work is assigned.

What we're building
POTSH Music is an artist enablement platform and IP studio powered by AI. We build human-directed music worlds where more artists can create, release, and own their work. AI changes how music gets made — but it expands who gets to own it.
We're small on purpose. Every person here shapes the creative system. You'll work directly with the founder, across music, tech, creative strategy, and artist relations.
Every creative decision is made by a person. AI is a tool — not a replacement for taste.
We build for the people making music, not around them. Ownership, credit, and royalties matter here.
The build is documented. The founder is visible. We don't hide the seams — they're the story.
How we work
We move fast with a lean structure. Work is async-first with intentional real-time moments. Most engagements are remote-eligible. Portland, OR is home base — some roles require physical proximity to the talent for content capture, behind-the-scenes, podcast tapings, personal assistant/handler work, and live creative production. Remote collaboration is real here, not a policy afterthought. Each role listing calls out the location requirement clearly. All POTSH engagements are 1099 independent-contractor roles. Contractors set their own hours, use their own tools and methods, and invoice POTSH for completed work. POTSH does not provide employee benefits, withhold taxes, or direct day-to-day work in the manner of an employer/employee relationship.
We document decisions, work in sprints, and protect deep creative time. Meetings have a purpose or they don't happen.
You'll wear multiple hats. That's not a warning — it's the draw. The people who thrive here love the full picture.
Strategy, revenue goals, creative direction — all shared. We build in public and operate the same way inside.
We use AI tools across the workflow — writing, sound, design, analysis. Comfort with AI is a baseline, not a bonus.
"The competitive moat isn't the AI — it's the human being visible, accountable, and in the photo with the work. We want people on this team who get that."
— Nick Boyd, Founder · POTSH Music
